Creative Tuesdays Cryptozoology Alphabet

As you may or may not know, Cryptozoology is one of my bigger passions. I am a sucker for "real life" monsters, and all the stories of sightings.
Though I have never personally seen a Chupecabra or Bigfoot, I do live just a hop, skip and a job from the only Cryptozoology museum in the whole wide world! (Don't believe me? Check it out HERE).

Getting back on track, I was inspired by Creative Tuesdays' ABC Illustration challenge so I broke out the markers and got kraken (see what I did there?)

Behold, the Cryptozoology Alphabet Book! Okay, so it is still in the works, some of the illustrations need to be finished, but I didn't want to leave all y'all empty handed. So you here you go, Crytid Studies 101 A to G.

Akkorokamui are gigantic octopus like monsters.

Bunyips are giant swamp cats believed to live in Australia. Where do I get one and how much?
In case you didn't know, the  Chupecabra (meaning "goat sucker") is a creepy dog thing  in Mexaco.

Dobhar-Chus are gigantic Irish swamp otters. I want to believe!

Emela-ntouka ("Elephant Killer") are quite adorable rhinoceros like beasts in Africa

Flatwoods Monster is an extraterrestrial or cryptid sighted by multiple parties in West Virginia in 1952.

Globster is the term used to an specific type of unidentified organism that has washed up on beaches on many different occasions throughout history.

And there you have it, boys and girls! Sorry about the pic heavy post, I was just excited to show all my goodies out.
Be sure to check out Creative Tuesdays website to see some other awesome alphabet illustrations.

    1. thanks! When I was a kid I thought cryptid studies was the coolest thing ever, but they didn't really have child books that focused on that back in the day. I'd love to eventually fix up and flush out the pictures and turn it into an actual book someday.

ironically, I am very into monsters, and the flatwoods monster is the one that scares me most out of the 26 I am drawing, haha!

    1. thank you so much! I had to do a bit of research to find some, and decided I wanted to use some of the more unheard of cryptids instead of your household names (like Bigfoot).

  7. Visiting from Creative Tuesdays - Crikey!! I've only ever heard of Bigfoot, so all these are new to me. You've certainly done your homework to put this little lot together. Now that's dedication! :0)

  8. Tranifer, firstly, a heart big WELCOME to Creative Tuesdays! how fun to have you and Whoa, you PERFECTLY described my own alphabet theme. I was trying to think what it was-- Cryptozoology--never heard that word before but that is it exactly. I knew mine was of legends mainly more than Halloween per se and now I know. Your additions here are perfect! Can;t wait to see the rest, actually. Fun. Some of these I've also not heard of of. I enjoyed your link to the museum as well. yes, sure enough--there is a museum for everything. lol. Thank you for playing along! hope we can see you back again in a few weeks with the next theme perhaps? :)
