Coast City Comicon 2012!

I think it's safe to say that this year's Coast City Comicon was a huge success. They did a marvelous job of pulling it all together and bringing in some very talented, huge named folk from all around the world. Needless to say, I had a blast working, selling my goodies and just mingling with everyone that showed up.

Last year I felt so underdressed, so I thought I'd kick it up a notch. Decided to go as one of my favorite villainous vixens, Poison Ivy.
It was quite the process. First off, unnatural hair color is a big no-no at my day job. Thank goodness for cheap colored hair spray (especially after Halloween when it goes down to 75% off)

Next, it was time to pop in my creepy costume contacts (or contact I should say, since wearing one is a whole lot less of a pain than wearing two..) and paint on the intense makeup, with some liquid latex.
Not the best example of how the latex turned out, but you get the idea
Throw some leafy getup into the mix, and bing, bang, boom, you got yourself a freakin' Poison Ivy!
And oddly enough, I wasn't the only one there, seemed to be a relatively popular costume this year..

I also got to meet/snuggle up to pro wrestling legend Hacksaw Jim Duggan!

And I somehow wound up in a fist fight with honest Abe...
I think I won?

On top of that I got some awesome goodies from Tofu Squirrel, an original drawing from two of my favorite artists, Rene De Liz (The Last Unicorn and Womanthology) and Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night and Deadspace). Then I drank Curry flavored soda, which, for the record, was amazing! And ate some delicious cupcapes from 13th Cookie (if you're local, make sure to check him out, his goodies are divine!)

So yep, great success all around, and I can't wait til next year!
