Gearing up for a Monster Mash

Sugar Skull Kitty available here
Autumn is my favorite season, for quite a few obvious reasons (seriously, when else can you buy pumpkin flavored anything or watch leaves turn all sorts of crazy colors?) And though there is the inevitable feeling of winter fast approaching (my god, do I hate winter!) I feel that all the spooky monsters and creepy things coming out to play in full swing almost makes up for everything else.
As I mentioned in my last post, I will have quite the busy October/November, online and off, and I can hardly wait. Though I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed by it all, I couldn't be more excited.
Decided to really hop on the bandwagon this year and go crazy with Halloween-like items, even though my entire shop already consists of zombies and monsters and not-so-spooky ghosts, since when I am featured as "Artist of the Month" for Oct. that is what SBux will really jivin' for. (Seriously, even if it is only in one location, when else will I get to strut my stuff in a corporate atmosphere?)
I confess. I like photo-ops with my monsters..

So I am working on all sorts of ghouls and goblins and things that go bump in the night. Recreating some old favorites (anyone remember the angry Candy Corn plushie I did back in the day?) Also getting back into the Sugar Skull Calavera toys, and maybe even a monster or two that resemble pumpkins... or something.
Okay... and maybe even a Lovecraftian plushie or two...
Yep. Staying positive, trying not to burn myself out, and attempting to stay sane in the process... okay... maybe not that last part so much. But yes, good things to come in Wonkyland!

Maybe if I'm feeling bold, I'll even submit some more elaborate pieces to a craft magazine or two.
Wish me luck!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.... I'm off!

  1. Good luck kiddo! Looking forward to seeing what you create. I missed the angry Candy Corn. Congrats on the feature at your job.

  2. Thanks! I am so beyond excited/overwhelmed about it all!

And I just spent a million years sifting through old blog posts to find the candy corn for ye! He's a few pictures down.
